In the morning you will be picked up at the airport or your hotel and start your trip to the La Pasión River. Next, you'll take a boat to reach Ceibal. This Maya city was abandoned over a millennium ago and is now covered with lush, tropical rainforest. Most of the hike to the site takes place is in the shade of the forest.
This site has some of the best-preserved examples of royal Maya portraits. Maya carved these portraits into stone, and visitors today can still observe remarkably intricate details.
At 2:00 PM your tour returns to the boat, where you'll get to eat a box lunch picnic. Then you'll begin your return journey, and arrive back at the hotel or airport at 4:30 PM.
