This 2-night, 2-day tour offers travelers a short and satisfying glimpse of the Guatemalan highlands. Along the way you will visit the market and church of Chichicastenango, the shores of Lake Atitlán, and the cultural sites of Antigua.

This tour departs on either Thursday or Sunday. In the morning you will leave Guatemala City and head to Chichicastenango. Upon arrival, you will visit the colorful open-air market and the Santo Tomás Church.
Hundreds of indigenous people arrive from the surrounding villages to sell their products and socialize. You can witness the ceremonial rites performed on the steps of the church, which is more than 400 years old (do note that no shorts and bathing suits are allowed inside the church). You will stay the night at your hotel of choosing in Chichicastenango (not included).
The next day (Friday or Monday) you will drive to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The visit here is short, and you will continue on to Antigua afterwards. In the colonial city of Antigua you will visit interesting cultural sites, including churches, convents, and monasteries. You will return back to Guatemala City in the afternoon or stay in Antigua for the night at the hotel of your choosing (not included).

The Atitlán Nature Reserve is located along the shores of Lake Atitlán outside the town of Panajachel. This private reserve offers all kinds of fun activities, including hiking, zip lining, swimming, and more.

The Chichicastenango market is one of the most colorful and exciting markets in Guatemala. It’s open on Sundays and Thursdays and is an interesting cultural experience for travelers.

The San Pedro Volcano is set along the western shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. The village of San Pedro La Laguna lies at the base of this 9,908-foot (3,020-m) stratovolcano.
