Hundreds of indigenous people arrive from the surrounding villages to sell their products and socialize. You can witness the ceremonial rites performed on the steps of the church, which is more than 400 years old (do note that no shorts and bathing suits are allowed inside the church). You will stay the night at your hotel of choosing in Chichicastenango (not included).
The next day (Friday or Monday) you will drive to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The visit here is short, and you will continue on to Antigua afterwards. In the colonial city of Antigua you will visit interesting cultural sites, including churches, convents, and monasteries.
