This tour offers travelers an excellent opportunity to watch sea turtles nesting or help release them into the ocean. What you do will depend on the time of year that you visit.

A local guide will meet you at either your Monterrico hotel or at the CECON Tortugario (a local turtle hatchery). From here your tour will begin.

From July to November, you'll walk along the beach at night and collect eggs. The eggs will be given to the Torugario CECON, a local non-profit that's engaged in sea turtle conservation. CECON also acts as a hatchery. A donation will also be given to this center.

From September to January, sea turtles are born at the hatchery and released into the sea. During this time of year you can watch the turtles be released. It's an inspiring sight.
