This tour begins on Monday morning. You will journey through the departments of El Progreso, Baja Verapaz, and Alta Verapaz as you make your way towards Semuc Champey. Semuc Champey is a natural monument that consists of a series of river-fed pools above limestone rocks. It's a fantastic place to swim, splash around, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The tour then continues on to the Lanquín Caves. This intricate system of limestone caves has multiple chambers, rooms, and stalacite formations. The caves are a sacred site for Mayans; ceremonies are still held here. Later in the afternoon you will be transferred to Cobán to spend the night.

On Tuesday morning you will continue on to Copán, which is just across the border in Honduras. The archeological site of Copán has an impressive offering of palaces, pyramids, and intricate hieroglyphic carvings. You will stay the night in the nearby town of Copán Ruinas.

On Wednesday morning you will return to Guatemala Country and visit the archeological site of Quiriguá. This is another impressive Maya site that has some of the best-preserved stelae in the country. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Río Dulce for accommodations.

On Thursday morning you'll hop in a boat and head down the Río Dulce to visit the town of Lívingston. Lívingston is a funky town along the Caribbean coast of Guatemala. While here, try out some coconut bread - it's delicious.

After exploring Lívingston you will head back up the river and stop at the San Felipe Castle. This castle is set along the shores of Lake Izabal and is an interesting historical site. In the afternoon you will return to Guatemala City and end the tour here.
