This tour takes you on a stroll around the wonderful city of Antigua. You'll learn a great deal about Guatemalan colonial history on this tour.
The tour begins at the main square and Cathedral, where you'll learn about the foundational moments in Antiguan history. You'll then continue on to the City Hall and ascend to the second floor—from here you can see Antigua's main plazas and get a wonderful view of the Agua Volcano.
The tour continues on to the Las Capuchinas Convent. This is the city's most elegant convent and provides a good example of colonial Guatemalan architecture.
Afterwards you'll visit the church of San Francisco, one of the best-preserved churches in Antigua. This church also holds the tomb of Central America's first Saint, Hermano Pedro de San José Betancourt.
Next you'll walk to the beautiful baroque church of Nuestra Señora de la Merced and enjoy (yet again) the wonders of colonial structure and architecture.
The tour ends in a jade factory, where you can see how jade was used in the past and how it is used in the present.
